Someday, everything will make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, be strong and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

Hello, Hello Kitty!
We all know cats don’t like jumping into the water willingly, but Hello Kitty is here to change that! To help protect the world’s endangered reefs, Hello Kitty is taking on an activist role and starring a new campaign with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
Campaign Videos: Hello Kitty will be starring in a series of videos where she’ll educate about the plight of coral reefs, which are currently being threatened due to overfishing, pollution and warming oceans.
Why? It’s important to protect the coral reefs both for the oceans and for humans. Coral reefs provide a home and food for 9 million species of marine life. That’s a quarter of all marine life! Moreover, coral reefs also help humans by providing job and food security for 500 million people, while also protecting coastlines from dangerous storms and overflowing.
The Lasagna Lady
After Michelle Brenner was furloughed from her job a few months ago, she decided to transform her disappointment into creativity. How? Through huge pans of fresh lasagna. Brenner set aside her $1,200 stimulus check to buy ingredients for lasagna, and offered everyone in her community her fresh and homemade lasagna for free.
Details: Brenner quickly received requests from her neighbors, friends, seniors, medical staff and law enforcement officers. Brenner also launched an online campaign to help pay for the ingredients. Over $22,000 has been contributed by her community so far.
The Impact: Brenner says she loves making lasagna and hopes the food brings a smile to anyone who receives it. It’s an amazing initiative that’s snowballed into more acts of kindness as more and more people donate.
Common Sense Camp
Welcome summer! That means eating loads of popsicles, walks by the beach and summer camp. Unfortunately, most summer camps are closed because of the pandemic. The Hanson family found a silver lining though: making their own summer camp, focused on common sense skills!
Who? Oona and Paul Hanson created an 8-week summer camp for their two children. Many studies show that while the younger generation may be book smart or tech-savvy, their “life skills” aren’t always up to par. Skills like cooking or personal finance are the important everyday skills the Hansons want to teach their children.
How? The camp manual is a book titled “How to Be a Person: 65 Hugely Useful, Super-Important Skills to Learn Before You've Grown Up” by Catherine Newman. Each day at camp Common Sense features direct instruction, diy tasks and independent research. Sounds like the perfect way to learn essential life skills!
