A man who dares to waste one hour of life has not discovered the true value of life.

Edible Ramen Packaging
Instant ramen. A food almost synonymous with college students and all nighters. However, this college staple is also responsible for a substantial amount of single use plastics. That is until Holly Grounds, a recent college graduate, created an all-in-one solution to the problem: incorporating the seasoning and wrapper into a single, edible biofilm packaging.
Instructions: Surprisingly, the biofilm packaging is easy to craft. Simply mix up some potato starch, glycerin, and water along with ramen seasoning, then let the mixture set in a mould. Once the mixture is set, use it to wrap noodles into a donut-shape for easy cooking.
Benefits: This new design has a tremendous impact on the environment, eliminating the need for plastic packaging. But there are several other advantages too. For example, because there’s no longer anything to open, cooking the noodles takes even less time -- just grab some noodles, and drop in boiling water.
Celebrity Superheroes
Super Shaq: Driving can be pretty unpredictable. Maybe you’ll break down on the side of a highway. And maybe a superstar basketball hall-of-famer will stop to help you. Well, that’s exactly what happened to a Florida driver when Shaquille O’Neal pulled over to help change her tire when she blew a flat on an Orlando highway.
Avengers Assemble: What would you do if a dog was charging towards you and your sibling? For Bridger Walker, he immediately moved his little sister out of the way and took the full brunt of the attack, resulting in several bites and over 90 stitches to his face. So when news of his bravery spread, it was no surprise that several famous “superheroes” reached out, giving their support. So far the list includes Tom Holland (Spiderman), Hugh Jackson (Wolverine), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffallo (The Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robbie Amell (Firestorm), and Zachary Levi (Shazam).
Citizen Verizon
Verizon deserves some applause: instead of laying off hundreds of thousands of workers, the company is retraining them for an increasingly automated economy. Through the initiative, named Citizen Verizon, the company launched an education platform providing digital skills and mentorship for many workers.
Crisis Reaction: CEO Hans Vestberg stated that in times of crisis, it isn’t just the government’s responsibility to help people. Major corporations have a responsibility to support their employees as well. With this same philosophy in mind, Verizon invested $216 million for educational and training programs for their employees last year.
Zoom Out: Verizon’s new initiative helps not just its employees, but other workers and school children too! Verizon’s goal is to train many low-wage workers, such as factory workers or restaurant employees. Additionally, the company wants to reach 10 million students by 2030 by providing them with digital skills. Talk about a wide-reaching initiative!
